DAY 3 –

I woke up in my clothes from the night before, including 1 sneakers still on and in a puddle of drool…so I am a hot mess for sure.  I need coffee and a shower, stat!

Breakfast was a no brainer, egg sandwich with hummus and hot sauce and lots of cheese.  While eating and enjoying a cup of coffee I start to go through my emails and start my game day operations all over again for the last time for the weekend.

I got this, I can do this, it’s just one more game, just one more game, I can do this, I can do this.

I pretty much took most of the day for myself, used it to clean up my house, do some laundry and just relax before I lost my mind completely.

Got dressed and loaded the truck with everything that I needed for the game.  I can do this.

Ok, here we go, game three in three days, I got this. Volunteers are lined up and ready for action.  Merchandise is set up and ready to sell.  Tickets are ready to be sold. We are solid!

National Anthem singer – check.  Puck droppers – check.  Honorary captain – check.  Intermission team – check.  Chuck-a-puck kids – check!  And it’s go time.

Not going to lie, I did walk around a lot and took care of issues when they came across my walkie talkie, but I don’t know if it was because I was comfortable of letting interns and volunteers handle things, or if I was just so over-tired and I was numb to things, but I actually stopped and watched the game and it was just amazing.  The Beauts are the comeback queens. Seriously, they never give up. I feel like that really represents the spirit of Buffalo; hard working and never give up.  I guess that kind of attitude is good to have, especially in the position that I am in.

My goal with every game is to put on the best show that we can, not just on the ice but with all the extras.  The brainstorming has already begun for our next home game. It’s going to be spook-tac-ular for sure!

The Buffalo Beauts host the Connecticut Whale on October 23 at 330 pm. Tickets are available at NWHL.zone, or tune in to the stream hear 716
